Shilpa Shetty – From Big Brother Racism Row to Yoga Video Calm
Karma has a way of working things out.
It started with the massive row about Jade Goody's abuse of Shilpa in the Celebrity Big Brother House in the 2007 UK show.
And now brand Shilpa is growing strong with the release of her Yoga video.
Shilpa launched her yoga DVD first in the UK and then in India. When asked the reason for launching in the UK first, she replied: "Well I didn't think I would release it in India. But there was a consumer market here, and there was a demand, and when I was asked whether I liked to release in India, I was more than happy." (source: timesnow.tv)
BEFORE: BIG BROTHER RACISM ROW VIDEO
AFTER: SHILPA SHETTY'S YOGA VIDEO TRAILER
While brand Goody is still in tatters, Shilpa has recently launched her website ShilpaShettyLive.com to promote her products, and "keep in touch with my fans."
But Shilpa's Site Karma still needs fixing.
While it is great to see something good come out of the horrendous scenes we saw on Celebrity Big Brother last year, I would urge Shilpa to consider the quality of her online presence and whoever it is who is promoting it. Even good karma needs some solid web knowledge:
1. If you Google "Shilpa Shetty", her site doesn't come up in any results. A quick check on Search Engine Ranker, reveals that her site isn't actually listed on almost any search engine.
2. At the time of writing her site was actually down, so I wasn't able to review it.
Update: I have now been able to access the site. It is a one page framed website, built on Flash technology, with no content that search engines can access. Although the one page itself looks great, it is virtually invisible to the world, and would require some serious Search Engine Optimisation work.
Shilpa, if you're reading this, you really need some professional Internet help (and yes, by all means drop me a line...).
Big Brother 9 Gossip – The buzz begins with a blind man rumour

Well, it started again, or as Carol Anne, the little girl in Poltergeist said: "They're HERE!"
Many viewers are saying they've reached saturation point, and won't watch Big Brother this year. But then again, there's a rumour that there is going to be a blind person in the house, and no doubt many will watch, ‘just for a bit’, to see how that’s going to play out.
I can almost imagine the Big Brother production team brainstorming this one: "What shall we try? We've done all the T's: Transsexual, Tourettes, Twins. What else can we do that would attract the crowds again, and maybe a little controversy?"
So hats off to the brilliant marketing idea (if true). The question is, once they got the nation to take a peak, would they manage to find ways of slipping that crack-addiction-pipe that is reality-compulsive-car-crash-TV into our gaping bewildered mouths.
The verdict awaits in the ratings.
